Bobby Ellis Memorial Candlelight Vigil to End Hunger

*** Watch for details for the 2017 Memorial ***

Thanksgiving Eve | November 23, 2016

7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Catholic Charities | 2234 W. Market Street, Louisville, KY, 40203

(corner of 23rd & Market)

Join us on the eve of Thanksgiving to show your support to end hunger in our community.

Bring your whole family and take part in this 1/2 mile candlelight walk and vigil.  We will meet at Catholic Charities then walk to the spot near the corner of 21st & Muhammad Ali where 9-year old Bobby Ellis died from hunger on Thanksgiving eve in 1969.  We will hear from community leaders and local youth peacemakers, then return to Catholic Charities.

Bobby's death brought the interfaith community together to fight hunger and led to the creation of Dare to Care Food Bank and the annual Louisville Hunger Walk.

Presented in partnership with Dare to Care

Donations of money or canned goods for Dare to Care Food Bank greatly appreciated!
